Journey Begins
Our adventure started early in the morning from Kathmandu. Excitement filled the vehicle as backpacks were loaded, and everyone eagerly anticipated the adventure ahead.
The scenic drive took us through winding mountain roads, terraced fields, rushing rivers, and charming villages before reaching the trekking trail. Even before the hike began, the breathtaking landscapes reminded us why Nepal is one of the world’s greatest destinations for mountain lovers.
As we climbed higher, the scenery
gradually transformed from lush green forests into alpine terrain blanketed

Through Snow
As we gained altitude, the landscape
changed dramatically.
Fresh snow covered the trails, surrounding hills, and mountain passes. Walking through untouched white snow while breathing crisp Himalayan air was an experience unlike anything we had experienced before.
Although the trail became more challenging, the excitement within our group never faded. We laughed together, encouraged one another during steep climbs, stopped countless times for photographs, and simply admired the spectacular mountain scenery.
A Rare Encounter with Himalayan Wildlife
Nature had an incredible surprise
waiting for us.
Along the trail, we encountered a magnificent Himalayan Yak grazing peacefully against the snowy backdrop. Seeing such an iconic mountain animal roaming freely in its natural habitat was a dream come true for many of us.
Hidden among the alpine vegetation appeared the colorful Danfe (Himalayan Monal)—Nepal’s national bird.
Few travelers are fortunate enough
to witness both a Himalayan Yak and the Danfe during a single trek. We felt
incredibly lucky to experience Nepal’s remarkable biodiversity firsthand.
These unexpected wildlife encounters
became some of the most cherished moments of our journey.

After several hours of trekking through
snow-covered trails, we finally arrived at Bhairav Kunda.
Words simply cannot describe our
first impression.
Standing before us was a
breathtaking frozen alpine lake surrounded by towering snow-covered Himalayan
peaks beneath a crystal-clear blue sky.
The entire landscape looked like a painting.
The only sounds were the gentle
mountain wind and the footsteps of fellow trekkers crossing the snow.
Standing beside the lake with my friends, we realized that every difficult climb had been worth it.
It was one of those rare places
where nature, peace, and spirituality come together.
The
Sacred Temple Beside the Lake
Near the frozen lake stands a small
stone temple decorated with colorful Buddhist prayer flags dancing in the
Himalayan wind.
Despite the freezing weather, the temple radiated warmth through its spiritual atmosphere.
Bhairav Kunda is deeply respected by both Hindu and Buddhist devotees. During Janai Purnima, thousands of pilgrims make the challenging journey to this sacred lake, believing its holy waters cleanse sins and bring blessings from Lord Bhairav.
